1. Seat belts save lives, in the event of a crash it reduces the impact of a crash or head on collision so BUCKLE UP.

2. Using mobile phones while driving is one of the major causes of accidents. If you must accept a call please find a safe unobtrusive area which will not affect oncoming traffic.

3. Always be alert. When driving

4. Always ensure that toddlers and children up to the age of 12 are restrained in an appropriate child seat or booster seat when traveling the rare seat in a vehicle.

5. It is imperative to obey all traffic signals and laws.

6. Under all conditions drive at a speed which will allow you to stop within a safe distance of the car in front of you.

7. Indicators and hand signals allow other drivers to know your intended course of action.

8. Do NOT drive if tired or on medication that will affect or impair your judgment, If tired, find a safe area to take a rest before proceeding on your journey.

9. Do NOT drink and drive. Alcohol, even in small amounts can impair your judgment

10. REMEMBER! Not adhering to Road Safety Practices can result in injury or even death.

- Keep within the prescribed speed limit.

-Reduce speed even below speed limits when roads are slippery.

-Obey all NO ENTRY sign to avoid accidents.

-Approach intersections with caution.

Don't use the shoulder unless its a emergency... Please note maxi and taxi drivers also seems to have an emergency...

On opera a Nero surgeon said that driving a car is technical for the brain because you are using your

eyes- see the rear view mirror, front screen and side mirrors
Ears- listen for ambulances, horns etc
Hands- Steer, change gears
Feet- Mash peddles

There is so much the brain can handle and talking on a phone complicate the relay neurones and make you not aware of your surroundings, even talking on a headset so be careful and use automatic answer or something

Lol @ andre.

Anyways, this is a good topic. People need to responsible and vigilant on the roads. I especially hope people take heed to the seatbelts and the car seats. I'm tired of hearing parents crying when their children die when they are the ones cultivating an attitude that somehow wearing a seatbelt is "uncomfortable" and "uncool". I don't drive without wearing a seatbelt. If you don't wear a seatbelt, sorry you're not sitting in my car. That's okay if I'm "uncool", but you wouldn't look so nice splattered across the road.

Always be alert coz with someone negligence we can die just as Mr Ramon Naim Sabga, the 21 year old failed to stop at the corner of Alexandra Street and St Clair Avenue and slammed into Sabga's BMW, let obey the road signs and remember our regulations
