Teen raped: cop gives himself up

A police officer, who is expected to be charged for rape, gave himself up to officers at the San Fernando Police Station yesterday morning.

The 53-year-old officer, who is on pre-retirement leave, is expected to be charged for raping a teenaged girl last Saturday afternoon.

The 17-year-old girl was taken to a deserted track in Debe around 1.45 p.m., where the officer forced her to engage in sexual intercourse with him, police said.

After the incident, the girl made a report and she was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH), where she was later examined by doctors, police said.

Cpl Roopnarine, of the San Fernando Police Station, is continuing investigations.

See what going on here alot of the police are raping and doing alot of crime and will never get caught if he had not confess no one will ever know who raped the girl. Shameful old darm man wtf he don't have a daughter or some female relative

Why would he reach this age to do such an act???? I have a feeling he has been doing this a long time ago and finally someone came forward and reported it.....Of course you would not hear that on news ...........

That right i also feel he was doing this for years in the pass, and the guilt just caught up with him, no one would have known and if the girl reported it no police office would listen to her that the mentality of Trini"s

I guess the person he rape had some links to the police or some family member otherwise there would be no story...

A police sergeant is expected to appear in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court today charged with two counts of statutory rape. The officer was detained over the weekend after a 15 year-old San Fernando student reported that he had sex with her. The 45 yr old officer, with 15 yrs service, was placed on an identification parades over the weekend. According to investigators the girl told a senior court official that on Wednesday 27th April that the officer, who had been assigned to a case involving a dispute between her and her mother, took her out and had sex with her. The incident was alleged to have taken place at King’s Wharf, San Fernando.....
