Open Scholarship winner 19-year-old Rynessa Cutting found her pathway to success with more simple tools—hard work, dedication and some assistance from the T&T Unit Trust Corporation (UTC). Cutting studied by candlelight as her family has no electricity. She also has impaired vision in her right eye and suffers from headaches.

“Those things (TV and computers) can be distracting—so in a way, maybe it was easier for me (to achieve success!”) “I want to do communications because I like broadcasting and maybe being an anchor or something like that,”

With the support of the T&T Unit Trust Corporation, Cutting will sit the SAT exam (required for admission to many schools in the United States) on December 5, 2009.

When you think all is well in this country, some people still suffers and still strive for success....
