Some people would pay the huge bill to be seen dining at famous "American" bigshot restaurants in Trinidad. Why do trinis go there to be robbed of their money. Do you know that Ruby Tuesday charges you 10% for service charge and on top of that takes out tips for the waiter. Me and admin and some friends went there yesterday just to get a drink and we happens to go up there because we have only 20mins to spend. As we entered we ordered drinks that you just have to throw out of the bottle and into a cup with ice and then serve but we got bad service as the drinks took more than 20 mins to "make". We got so angry because its only what we ordered and no food and we sat right by the bar and you tell me that we have to pay 10% for service charge and this was the service we was getting? NAH! I could of have time leave and the drinks wouldn't of come. Admin went up to them and ask what was taking them so long because we waiting here and have to go just now. The manager apologized and say how there does be a meeting before every shift and how he sorry and blah. Admin made him understand that we waited here so long and how we the customers would of known there was a meeting. It was bullshit after we ended up walking off because they got on like if we didn't want to pay for the drinks which we knew the price and ordered.
I like TGI because as you sit down by the bar you get your drinks other than the service charge but 20 mins just to open a bottle and put ice...it takes less than 2mins to do that and btw the bar only had 3 customers which was eating. so you tell me is this what you pay for ?

Which Ruby's was this Karrie? And I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. At Ruby's in MT, the bar service there is ridiculous! Me and a couple friends went in for ONE drink before our movie and we sat about 10 feet away from the bar on the right for about 20 mins. When I went to cancel the order because we were going to be late for the movie, then the waitress tells me she'll be right with us. Needless to say, I told her not to bother and we left.

But I think this is solely a bar service problem because I dine there fairly often and haven't really had a problem with waiting to get a table or food save for one or two wrong orders that they politely redid. I do agree that they shouldn't have service charge at the bar, or at least make the drink complimentary since you had to wait so long.

I went to TGIF for a birthday dinner and when we got there, the maitre d' told my party of SIXTEEN that they double booked our table and we had to wait. AND they gave us all complimentary drinks while we waited. THAT'S SERVICE.
