Pregnant teen on probation

THE 14-year-old pregnant girl caught with marijuana was yesterday placed on three years probation.

And one of the conditions of her sentence is attending parenting classes.

The four-months-pregnant Pleasantville teen was grounded and denied use of her cellular phone by Magistrate Melvin Daniel after her first appearance in the San Fernando Second Court last month.

She was charged with having three grammes of cocaine in her possession and was placed on $40,000 bail.

The court was told that PC Joaneal Coomansingh, attached to the San Fernando City Police, and other officers were on patrol duty along Sinanan Street in Vistabella, San Fernando, three weeks ago when the teen was stopped and searched.

She told the court she was holding the illegal substance for Devon Wankin, the 21-year-old father of her unborn child. Wankin has since been charged with having sexual intercourse with a minor. He is on $50,000 bail and will reappear in court next Wednesday.

In passing sentence yesterday, Daniel told the girl that she needed to assist the probation officers, or she will have to return to court for sentencing.

"The court is concerned and displeased with the non-cooperation given," he said, after learning of her past meeting with probation officers.

"Slow down a bit. Right now, you are in gear three or four. Get down to gear one," Daniel told the teen. -Nikita Braxton

I am glad for this really..the police should uncover all them pregnant small teens and then and find their fathers and jail their rasses. But her probation should be more work than that like community service. imagine this small teen with a small uterus and body making a child with A BIG 21YEAR OLD MAN

This really is disturbing. It does have some lil girls with the body of a someone far beyond their age. Some of them does like at least 18. But as a man, you MUST know if a girl is underage. Her mentality, the was she speaks, moves. That's purely vice on the part of them fellas who does sleep with them girls... They should really start to hunt down those fellas and jail them. It really disgusting. She pregnant and hiding drugs for she child father. So de man just using she right tru. First for s-e-x, then to hide drugs..

Well its not only that these days girls that age does only be thinking about man and doing things with them, and it have a sex of big stinking men running down these small girls come have some shame. Its good he getting locked up for doing this and she should be locked up too

Wow a 21 year old and a 14 year old and she got pregnant, that man have no shame and they dealing up with drugs too. I wonder what her parents have to say about this, they must know that the girl is pregnant, what did they do?
