This is terrible could this be the first local victim of swine flu? If it is the level of secrecy behind what happened and who it is is disturbing. We already know healthy people are at no risk of dying of swine flu so hiding it making it look worse than it is. You know people like to panic.

Now people go panic and it sucks that it's the medical "Professionals" who inciting it. Imagine big nurses on tv getting on dotish and all germophobic. And big ads on tv showing masks and gloves. People dont need that to be safe. In fact the masks could increase you chances of infection. If you dont want swine flu you wont get it. It's not that contagious. You have to be all up in somebody business to get it lol. It's mild to moderate hundreds of people probably had it alread and over suspected... why worry.
The odds of dying from swine flu are the same we did since we had our first infectee. Just because people are dying doesn't mean the odds of you dying are increasing it just isn't. I so not afraid of swine flu I'd get it and not be concerned. It's treatable thats all that matters.

When we all thought it was over, its back to hunt us... After hearing of the four cases of swine flu deaths, we now have to take extra precaution measures. The Ministry of Health wants to increase the amount of doctors in the public health which is good. I hope he's not contracting those cuban doctors again because it will take time to adapt to the language when the country may be in a health crisis. Some facts of the virus : It is an unusual genetic mix of pig, bird and human influenza viruses that claims a deadly link to the Spanish flu of 1918, which claimed thousands of lives in Europe, and two smaller outbreaks at a military camp in New Jersey in 1976 and in Russia in 1977. The virus has now been raised to a phase six pandemic, the highest rank of any global infection since the 1968 Hong Kong flu.

Ministry of Health said that there are 163 confirmed cases of swine flu and four deaths. There are about 20 mild cases of swine flu at the hospital there is nothing new to report and official records of deaths and infections remain the same.

The Ambulance Bay at SFGH was cordoned off with triangular cones to accommodate patients who trickled into SFGH seeking confirmation on their H1N1 status, after experiencing flu like symptoms such as coughing, fever, body pains, diarrhoea and general malaise.

Thats good news that the hospitals are looking after our people.

I've recently been to the hospital.. And they have inot two zones.. Orange Zone (Serious) and Green Zone (Less Serious). There were poster stating that if you are experiencing particular symptoms, you are to get a face mask and proceed to the orange zone etc... It was really frightening there. You felt as if you were in a movie...

Reading from what u experience is really frightening.... I really don't want to even venture into the hospital area...

The San Fernando Supreme Court was shut down yesterday to be sanitised after a police officer attached to the cell block tested positive over the weekend for the Influenza A/H1N1 virus.

The Swine Flu Unit at the Arima Hospital was closed on Sunday. This, after many children turned up displaying flu-like symptoms. Parents complained they had to wait hours before the children were registered and even longer to see a doctor.

to-date mr min of health said about 40,000 ppl have been vaccinated in t&t!!! but dey still have adequate amount left, so go to ur health center an b vaccinated....it also have another similar virus H5N1 an d ministry is on guard....it had reported 72 cases an 32 ppl died... ah wonder if its more....
