Modern Vehicle Theft at its Finest

Outlined below is the link to an article which talks about high-tech vehicle crime in London. I always suspected that new cars were equally at risk of being stolen by a capable thief. What do you think?Do you think we will suffer the same fate here?

Theft was actually one of the first things that crossed my mind when I first heard about keyless entry. I don't know if Trini thieves are dedicated enough to go out of pocket and get the required gadgets required for these thefts, but then again, they can always steal it. I really wouldn't put it past T&T criminals. Safety first, no matter where you are!

A lot of them must have links with corrupt dealers. I wont blame the keyless because it also happens to cars with just chipped keys alone. Once its factory it can be hacked via the onboard diagnostics port.

Thats why I love aftermarket. I can install it uniquely for my needs and confuse the daylight out of a thief.

True; criminals can be quite creative no matter what the target is. I guess installing additional safety precautions and being vigilant are the best bets anyone has.

I wont say creative, creative is when they find ways to steal it not using the factory procedures.

The best precaution is being mindful of where you park and mindful of what you buy to an extent.

I hate to be a grammar nazi, but in the opening post... PLEASE change "faith" to "fate". It really irking me. The two words have totally different meanings

Yes they will really take it if they want it that badly but with even more security like a Clifford Blackjax you stand a better chance of survival Thieves will always find ways if they are that badly in need.

Actually hackers and theft are the master mind persons in the world and they can catch the car or a website with their tricks.I think Government needs to take step to improve these condition and to increase safety for the people.

Mad Racer is referring to organized and networked global car theft rings. Those guys are dangerous beyond your wildest dreams.

Theres not a whole lot you can do about them if youre not thinking creatively. For starters add to the factory security. The element of surprise often throws off car thieves and if they are persistent and become frustrated the worst that will happen is your cars interior or other parts may become damaged but I can live with that , to a large extent.

Actually these thefts are not of friends of anyone so beware from it and check the locks of the car properly,if you have highly functioned car so take care of it.
