These days since our country is suffering from the economic crisis, alot of companies are letting off workers by the hundreds, what will you think will happen to most of these people.
Let me tell you most of them will turn to crime, once they had a work now they don't and things so hard, food too high to buy, you might have a family, the government not doing anything to stop or help the situation, electricity rate going up, people must turn to crime and then it will turn into a doggy dog world.
Just wait and see guys

I haven't heard that yet from any company but it may eventually reach that stage by next year....

Resha do you read or watch the news Digicel let off over 500 people on vsep packages, a few companies (can't remember their names) Petrotrin let out some workers and i'm sure some small businesses too

Nope, I don't read newspaper non watch the news....Sometimes the radio .... so i think i rely on you guys and rumours...

Is Digicel closing down?

No digicel is not closing down, they are just letting off workers on visep packages until the economy comes back normal. Remember digicel has been running in a net work of caribbean countries over 13 so they can't close down

No I haven't heard about Petrotrin letting off any workers, the only one I know id the digicel news, other than that I know the metal company in Trinidad close down for 3 months I think, because of the slow down in demand for the commodity, but I don't think they let off anyone, all their employees just on holidays till they open back.

Besides the government laying off workers, Coosal also laid off workers.... What are these people going to do now????

Well let me tell you most of them will turn to the life of crime alot of them have loans to pay, insurance, bills how will they pay these things children to see about so crime will be the only option

Thats a little to negative to me....I really do hope people don't turn to crime.....there are still work available....

Companies letting of workers

Crime is easier for them to turn to than other stuff like farming or lesser paying jobs. but its only by illusion crime only looks like easy money but just look at our culture crime is overglorified to the point that most find it inviting.

Well Eniath's Printery and Kiss Baking Company laid off workers and this is true cuz i have a cuzin-in-law working there and alot of aunts cuzins and uncles

I haven't heard about Kiss baking Co laid off workers!!!!! I also heard from good source that the manager told them its going to be hard but they not going to laid off any workers... They will lower their salary ....

RBTT Will laid off by 500 workers.... Now thats sucks.... I also heard that after the summit, the government plan to lay off government workers in the service who have five years and under....

Wow, thinks are just getting harder and harder

The Regional Corporations are laying off workers too...... This is so sad...What will these people do and there family....

I don't understand why they dont increase production instead of dismissing the workers their are other ways to save money instead of firing workers.

Neal and Massy let go workers too...Can't recall the figure but more and more people are hitting the bread line...

Chaguanas regional corp. made a plan not to lay off workers but cut down on the pay....Not only that, they also cut down on the amount of days of work too..... But thats only for temporary worker/ casual workers... not permanent staff...

Tstt closed down in Princes Town...The workers potest but to no avail....

Now ah hearing ANSA Mc Al rehiring its employee's who were laid off.... Thats good news for them as well as the economy

NMTS contracts in school will come to an end in August an it looks like MR Tim Goopiesingh wants to bring in his family owned firm PEGUSUS to wrk in schools...he refuse to sit with all d bodies an d CEO to settle outstanding matters wit MTS.....wats goin on wit school security!!!

But MTS is a big company you know how much people will go unemployed, i really starting to think this Government is doing more harm than good yes.
