Have you ever noticed that the articles about murders rapes killings are getting smaller and smaller? I sure have is this not a big deal anymore? i mean 3 years ago these thing would make headlines front page big huge articles but now its seem like the journalist and them don't seem to think that this is something to write about with more detail.
When you look at the newspapers now all sorts of rubbish articles are being written on the full page and all the time it will be much bigger than the rapes murder and crime issues.
What going on here are the Journalist thinking that this is not a story anymore and its better to put their experience and journalistic principles to other undeserving matters?

I didn't notice it. In my opinion, I'd rather see those types of article than the murders and rapes etc. Not to say that those things aren't important or anything..its jus that, recently that's all ur seeing in the papers. And quite frankly its down-right depressing. I would gladly embrace the softer side of the news for a change.

No i don't know if you are getting what i'm saying their are alot of people getting killed and raped and its seems to be small fry for the media, Yes its depressing but remember its other people lives their and we need to read what going on. People will want to know the reason why how it happened but the short articles they write you don't get any info. We need this info as to know whats out their whats taking place where not to take out our family and lime.
These are people lives and if they were raped and murdered at least we should not treat them like a statistic we should read what happened and feel even more remorse why this thing has to happen.

We can not keep fooling out selves or turning a blind eye on these things we must face reality and we must fight it head on, but it seems like the media lost this vision

Admin all the interest the print media ever showed into crime was just hype. Now that the population isn't responding they way they used to the media switched. I dont notice that much of a change i always thought crime reporting was poor. The public has gotten cold to crime you would expect the media to lose interest. Thats what happens when you sensationalise bad news instead of invoking proactive thinking. The media never really cared about the crimes the report beyond expecting more sales. I never really expected them to. They never get the facts right anyway. I'd rather hear the few facts they know that be lied to or have my emotions played with. I dont need to know how bad a crime was it's irrelevent to me doing anything about it. I dont need soap opera like headlines and stories. I'm not into tabloids. Reports i want are closer to police reports too much emotionalism passes for reporting these days. Dailies have the content an consistency of a weekly paper there's just not much standard.

Very well said Raucous. My sentiments exactly. So if i had to chose between the two, i'd chose the softer side of the news. I understand what admin was saying about it the lives of people we're talkin about. And I 110% agree, but like Raucous mentioned, the media sensationalized crime. So the public became de-sensitized about it. it's not like they don't care, they've been bombarded with flashy head-lines and full cover-story reports on crime so much in the past that they long for a change. The media houses are noticing this and therefore changing the type of coverage.

Are you sure about that why is it that the media does not go further into stories like the 2 million dollar flag the mansion, so on its like one day its news and the next day its nothing. I'm stating to believe that the media are being censored and they have a limited to their opinions,

It's a matter of perspective. I see them has having absolute freedom on what the report just they're squandering it focusing on bachanaal and scandals. The things that wont change. I have no fear that the media will fail to jump on a big story. They always do. Of course if it's more than a week it's stale news. They always want it fresh.

Like I have been saying, the media will report on what the oublic reacts to. For example, the two million dollar flag. Every daily yuh pick up have an article concerning it. Blowing things up. One daily paper even go as far as putting it as the "Big Question" of the day, going around asking people on the street their opinion on the matter? It what the pubile reacts to that deermines the emphasis ona particular story. After all, the aim is to sell papers.
