A 20-YEAR-OLD man was forced to watch his 19-year-old girlfriend being raped by two menâ€â€one armed with a gunâ€â€in Valencia on Sunday night.
However, swift response by officers of the Valencia Police Station resulted in the capture of the rapists.
Reports are that, around 8.30 p.m., the couple were seated in a parked car along Oropouche Road, Valencia, when they were approached by the men.
The men announced a hold-up and robbed the couple of a quantity of cash, jewelry and other valuables, before leading the two to a track, where they took turns in raping the woman while her companion was made to watch.
The men then fled the scene. Their escape, however, was short-lived as after the couple went to the Valencia station, a team of officers led by Cpl Bernard stopped a grey Nissan B-13 motorcar in which the two suspects were.
The officers also recovered the items stolen from the couple together with a .38 revolver.
The men, aged 19 and 21, were identified by the victims and are expected to be charged with the offences. â€â€Rickie Ramdass
