Next Out of the thousands stories WHY I HATE TRINIDAD..People this is so sick...Sending a message to a man by shooting 2 little kids imagine that !
A COWARD hiding behind a handgun shot and killed an eight-year-old schoolboy and seriously injured his 12-year-old sister during a gun attack at their family’s Arouca home on Wednesday night.
Primary school pupil, Quainta Hynman, and his elder sister, Denisha, were shot around 7.40 p.m. in the front room of their family’s home at the corner of Eighth Street and Range Road, in Five Rivers. The children were playing computer games when they were shot.
The gunman opened fire on the two children through a locked burglar-proofed gate at the front doorway to the house. The front door to the house was wide open and the children never knew what hit them, investigators said.
Quainta, was shot about his little body and died on the spot, while Denisha sustained a gunshot to her stomach. Both children were found bleeding and lying on the floor of the front room by their grandmother, Carlene, who was in another room in the house.
The killer fled on foot through a gate-way leading to Eight Street where he escaped in a waiting car. He is described as a dark-skinned male who appears to be of African origin, wearing a white jersey and a three-quarter jeans, according to investigators.
Homicide detectives believe the shooting was retaliation for a double murder and the fatal shooting of a man earlier this year. Those three murders were said to be ordered from behind prison walls by an inmate currently before the courts on a drug-trafficking charge. The Hynman children are said to be close relatives of the prisoner and their shooting a message sent to him.
The country’s most successful homicide team, lead by ASP Johnny Abraham and Insp Stanley Ramdeen, visited the crime scene after the shootings. However, the Special Anti-Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (SAUTT) has now taken over investigations into the shooting.
SAUTT has strongly advised family members to refrain from talking to the media or releasing photographs of the children, the police source said.
When the Express visited the Hynman’s home yesterday five unmarked Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) belonging to SAUTT were parked on the roadway outside.
Dozens of SAUTT officers walked through the Five River’s area handing out flyers seeking information on Quainta’s killing and the wounding of his elder sister.
Investigations have so far revealed that two men spent the majority of Wednesday driving around Five Rivers in search of the Hynman home. The home is on a property with another house and behind a small shop.
Two areas where spent shells were recovered by detectives were seen circled outside the front door to the Hynman’s locked home. No family members were at home and neighbours refused to talk about the incident for fear of being attacked.
Attempts to interview the children’s mother, Roberta, by members of the media outside the Forensic Science Centre yesterday proved futile. Roberta was there to witness her son’s autopsy.
Denisha was listed in a serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope up to presstime yesterday. She underwent emergency surgery at the hospital earlier in the day.
Acting top cop, James Philbert, condemned the shooting of the two children in a media release yesterday and promised ’to bring the perpetrator of this heinous crime to justice in the shortest possible time’.
During the morning assembly at the Dinsley Government Primary School in Trincity, where Quainta was a Standard Two pupil, Michael Jackson’s ’Gone Too Soon’ was played. Quainta’s funeral is tentatively set for Monday.
