Well he is close to me so all i can say is thank god he is alive and well and our prayers are with him this moment!

A man was in hospital last night after surviving being accidentally zapped by 12,000 volts of electricity while at work in San Fernando yesterday.

Jeremy Bailey, 23, suffered burns to the hands and legs in the incident at King's Wharf at around noon. He also suffered a head injury when he fell.

Bailey, who is employed with Central Neon and Sign Shop, was on the concrete roof of a bar removing advertising signs erected for Carnival when he came into contact with T&TEC high tension wires.

Bailey was with a co-worker when the incident happened.

According to the bar owner, "The man (who was injured) came into contact with the main transformer and fell and hit the air condition unit and bust open his head at the back. He was unconscious for about 10 to 15 minutes before the ambulance came."

The man was rushed to the nearby San Fernando General Hospital.

Fire officers, police and T&TEC officials visited the scene.
