TV6 What Have You Done?

Look how tv6 was back in the long time days their programs were well chosen, any bad movies that had alittle romance was shown at 11pm you know they has nice shows interesting programs and stuff but i think they have gone in the wrong path of attracting back their viewers.

Yes i know they getting alot of competition from Cnc3 and wintv .I Have cable so i do not watch tv6 anymore and yesterday i went out and happens to watch tv6 on a screen in the place . They have this segment with some Video Countdown. The countdown suppose to be about caribbean music and culture and stuff but the kind of videos there was about girls pouring their bodies down with hinekin and them wearing Prostitute clothes and wining up on fellas and they were singing about badman and thing. You mean tv6 is the standard channel and alot of LITTLE CHILDREN AND TEENS watch this station and you will tell me you will have something like that on Public TV ! Yes i know you are targeting people to come back to view your tv station and alot of them like it but it doesnot mean you would actually put this on tv. You know how much influence this could have on children and teens to dress and act. Its to rated to be seen on tv and one specific song with girls in bra and underwears wining up on a jeep is " wine of meh and drop down low to the floor" Do you think this is what parents would want their children to be watching. I know some of you would not agree to my statement and say that they just targeting what trinis like to attract them back but its not in this manner. Imagine if you were parents would you want your children to be watching these things and for a public tv too?

11? Anything after 11 could be like that. What children doing up to be watching tv constantly at 11. They can show many things as long as they give a warning. Sometimes that warning is the little tv 14 box in the top left hand corner. People dont seem to know what those tv ratings mean. Just because something is on tv doesn't mean its for any demographic. Alot of people dont follow ratings when they rent or buy movies either.

Rau i didnot see the program 11pm i will not go anywhere so late in the night to see a tv with tv6 on it .....THE PROGRAM WAS 3pm in the afternoon. And yes children can be waking so late i remember for the holidays when i was back in primary skool i used to wake really late to watch tv

They dont have an obligation to respect our sensibilities. We'd have to be a very conservative country to have tv codes like that. Were not anywhere close to being conservative to keep our content kid safe. TV says if you dont like it dont watch it. You see things like that even in the "news" even graphic and gory stuff at anytime. We might get offended but the content they show is well within the broadcast code for public tv.. And that IS what the people want..

Remember some time ago years ago they used to put before any mature content movie please put your children to beds and a full screen warning for children where is that now, i know for sure the other station don't have it but Tv6 used to have it alot now they don't

They still do i see it sometimes with episodes of CSI (or medium) and some movies. I dont want to sound like i dont care but: Standards change, what people considered sexual, gory, violent, disturbing or disgusting just isn't the same anymore. Lets take CSI: violent on screen crimes, blood and guts, semen, rotting corspes, sexual discussions and situations. BDSM anyone?.. Do I hate it? No. It's a crime drama. It's about forensics I like forensics.
How many people complain about all the evil stuff in YuGiOh (possession losing your soul. anyone?) or That brok from pokemon always have a different uniformed love interest. Or that elmo is almost always naked... most muppets are. lol.
Or that gossip girl has more immoral activities per episode than a standard soap.
Or that every anti aids ad has.. HAS to mention a condom.. Whatever happened to abstainance. Or that most liquour ads reference sex for no reason. Or that almost all our local drama production is borderline sex comedy?
Parents have nothing to worry about.. GOOD parents have nothing to worry about. TV only turns your children when you let it. It's called entertainment not babysitting. If you want your kids to be good you're the one to do it. It wont happen on its own. <not even documantaries are "safe">

Well apart from Raucous answer Yes i have seen that program and its disgusting only dub and dancehall is played on that segment and the sounds are sick! thats not nice my two nieces were watching but hwne they saw how the ladies dressed in the videos they took it off

Thats what i am trying to say it have nothing to do with al this long thing. ITS JUST TV IS JUST GETTING RATED AND THE THINGS THEY SHOWING IS NOT APPROPRIATE .Yes and i know its your choice not to watch it but its public tv what else they want some of us watch if we do not have cable

We're the minority here they dont cater for us anymore! What people want people get.. and the people want lewd things. (Of course if enough people complain it'll be removed)
Give that program more airtime and people will just accept it and eat it up. Thats just what tv does.

I think they trying to make it modern and upbeat like cable channels so people will be interested and watch
