A MOTORCYCLE cop knocked down and injured a 43-year-old Arima woman on the Priority Bus Route in St Augustine yesterday.

Listed in a serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope is Camilla Douglas, of Tumpuna Road in Arima.

According to police reports, Douglas was attempting to cross the Priority Bus Route near the UWI Villas, when she was struck by the motorcycle, which was being ridden by PC James, of the Court and Process Branch, around 11.30 a.m.

Douglas had stepped out from behind a maxi-taxi that had stopped to off-load passengers, when James, who was heading East along the PBR, ran into her, police reports said.

James fell from the motorcycle and received minor injuries, while Douglas was knocked unconscious and sustained broken bones in both of her legs.

I used to live In Tumpuna Road thou i do not know who she is. Now the Police Cops with the bikes are doing more harm than good. i cannot believe that the bike hit made her unconscious like he was driving at great spped. what is the police doing about this?

I really don't know about that rau, i does just read the express don't watch the news, but how fast was the motorcycle going, it must have been going real fast which is not right because it was near a Maxi Taxi

Police always feel they right in all things they do. Im sure nothing will not happen to this officer. They jus as worst as the system...

Tell me how many time does the police take advantage of their position, look at this have you every seen some police cars using the sirine to by pass traffic and to reach their destination faster even when they are not chasing after someone

i think they will do nothing. i hope she gets something to pay for her damage.....like Justice! they should give her a grant or some kinds funding or pay for her med bills i think thats fair enough
