Yesterday Ganga Singh announced a ban on hunting wild animals for two years. This ban is required as there is a serious depletion of wildlife in Trinidad and Tobago. I am totally supporting this ban! The fines for illegal hunting have been raised from $2000 to $100 000. The ban will officially begin on October 1 2013. Let us all support this cause.

Wow i'm now hearing about this and let me state that i'm in total support of this ban. I also welcome the fine increase, i know alot of people will be affected by this but we need to know that if we continue to hunt for these animals the rate we are currently going at soon there will be no more. Great move !!!

I do not eat wild meat but I totally agree because our wild meat sources are getting scarce. Some hunters say that their usual hunting places have been deserted and many are selling young animals. Give it time for the animals to populate and properly grow

Does anyone think that this initiative will affect 'votes' in the upcoming local general election?

Yes i think so ..Some hard headed trinis that don't care about environmental sustainability would rebel because we all know they love their wild meat .

there are other rebels Ladydeath who are against it because they firmly believe that it will increase illegal hunting and increase marijuana planting in the forests! but i really think that this is well thought out plan of action by the GOTT and I cannot wait to hear some lawbreakers are being heavily fined or even imprisoned.
