Prime Minister Patrick Manning last night opened files on members of the Opposition united team and warned the population that United National Congress leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar will reign if she becomes Prime Minister, but the men around her will be the ones running the country.
’I have come to the conclusion that the lady (Persad-Bissessar) lacks the political acumen to govern Trinidad and Tobago’ said Manning as he continued to attack NJAC leader Makandal Daaga, UNC deputy political leader Suruj Rambachan, UNC chairman Jack Warner, chairman of the Movement for Social Justice, Errol McLeod, as well as the labour leaders.
Manning’s first target was Daaga. He said the distinguishing aspect of NJAC was that it espoused the characteristic of the Black Power movement in the United States, which included violence to bring about social change.
He reminded the audience at the PNM’s meeting in Tabaquite that NJAC members had marched down Independence Square in Port of Spain and desecrated the Cathedral and this act gave rise to a changed atmosphere in this country.
Manning then trained his guns on McLeod, charging that he played an essential part in the ’deception and treachery’ in the days of the United Labour Front when there was conflict between Basdeo Panday and Raffique Shah.
Manning said this deception and instability discouraged foreign investors from this country.
Rambachan was Manning’s third target. He said a dark cloud still hangs over Rambachan’s head following allegations made in the Scott Drug Report.
Why Patrick Had to make that statement for that Kamla cannot run the country and the men will run it for her. Is that a sexist comment? That a female is not capable of handling his job if that was so then why does he suck at it
