A man faced the courts yesterday to answer a charge of being in possession of two(2) 4.5 litre bottles of Johnny Walker Black Scotch Whiskey. The man actually stood in front of a judge and said that he "found" the bottles in a bag in a rubbish heap...lol. According to reports, police were on patrol on Southern Main road, Marabella and saw the man walking with a big black bag. They questioned the man about the contents of the bag. When they learned what the contents were, they asked the man where he got it from, and he told him the story. He said that he just left a bar at around 2 am, and was waiting for a taxi, he glanced over at a rubbish heap and saw the bag, so he went to investigate, and found the whiskey. Upon cross examination, he was asked by the prosecuting attorney, what was so special about this particular bag in the dump that made you investigate it? He replied that "it " looked different from all the rest. Like somebody placed it there to return for it.
The magistrate didn't believe a word he said and he was fined $2500.00 or face 6 months in prison doing hard labour.
This place funny eh?
