A La Romaine man and his female companion were hijacked outside a fast food outlet in Point Fortin and taken to a secluded beach where they were beaten and the woman sexually assaulted.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The 47-year-old man was parked near Egypt Village, Point Fortin, when a gunman entered through the back door and placed a gun to his throat. His 23-year-old girlfriend was in the front passenger's seat.
The welder was forced to drive to the Guapo Beach Facility where two men were waiting. He was tied up and beaten while the woman, a security guard, was taken into bushes and brutally raped by the men, police said.
The couple were robbed of jewelry, cash and their white Toyota station wagon. The car was found along the Guapo Main Road yesterday.
