Police found a 28-year-old man bound and gagged in some bushes, after he was grabbed near his home and bundled into a car on Wednesday.
Bucky Khan, who lives at Indian Walk Village, Moruga, was liming with his friend, Russell Khan, when a car pulled alongside them. Five men came out of the car and began beating the two. They robbed them of cash, jewelry and cellphones.
Khan was then taken away by the men.
Narine went to the Moruga Police Station, where he reported the incident. A team of officers led by Sgt Gajadhar mounted a search and found Khan about two hours later.
He was beaten and thrown out of the vehicle, police said. His hands were tied with a cord and a piece of clothing stuffed in his mouth, police said.
