Nearly every you turn, you will see some one trowing out littler from their cars, when walking on the roads and in public and private areas. Trinidad and Tobago is so small and the rate we going it will be an disgusting site to see.
All on our beaches, coast lines nature wonders littered, why is it that we are doing this why can't we just use a bad and put all out disposable items in them instead of littering the scenery. Come on T&T we can do better than that

Personally If i have something to throw away i will located the nearest bin....or jus put it in my bag til i reach home....... The litter wardens in POS does walk around but never seems to fine no one littering....strange......

This is a sad but true reflection of a minority of Trinidadian's attitude towards their environment - THEY DON@T CARE!!

I was in Blanchicheuse today, which is one of the most beautiful spots in the entire island, but the beach is a HORRIBLE, litter strewn mess with festering piles of garbage, broken beer bottles and scavenging stray dogs.

Maybe this is the price of progress!?

Have we produced a generation who expect others to pick up after them?

Plainly it is the attitudes of these few which needs changing, whether by stick or by carrot. Simply picking up their crap indefinitely is NOT an option.

If you can't educate these idiots to care then you have to MAKE them care!!!!!

i'm telling you people these days have no care for the environment..all they care about is materialism and industrialization but i'm going to tell you something we will feel the pain just now when tourists stop coming to our country and we have no foreign income for no more development

lets hope dat bin have been provided for d public dis carnival....coz bins r very hard to find..plz lets not litter!!!

litter wardens

$500 fine for littering
The cost of littering has been raised from a $50 fine....Local Government Minister Suruj Rambachan said yesterday..... was speaking to graduates of a litter warden programme held at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain yesterday.....147 men and women trained for four weeks in the waste disposal laws of Trinidad and Tobago during the programme......
They will have the responsibility of maintaining and upholding these laws and will have the power to initiate legal proceedings against anyone who refuses to comply with their instructions......

Rambachan spoke of the results of the litter warden programme in the Chaguanas Borough which in its first year of operation in 2008 successfully prosecuted 22 out of 32 matters......
He said there was a successful relationship between the litter wardens and law enforcement in the borough.

"We are demanding of you, high levels of professionalism," Rambachan said as he cautioned the graduates that there will be temptation while they do their jobs.......
He said he felt confident that they would act without fear or favor.......

I think heavy fines should be imposed for those who throw away stuffs on the roads, beaches and public places.

Hopefully government of Trinidad and Tobago will take appropriate actions.
