Presently, Jack Warner is focusing on the e-passport and he is planning to introduce the concept in the year 2017. The e-passport can certainly increase the efficiency of the Government as well as the citizens. He has also pointed out some of the factors that the Government must consider in this case. The main purpose of the e-passport is to eliminate the individual process of joining the line and appearing in front of the immigration officer. Warner has quoted “The individual simply swipes his e-passport and looks into the kiosk, which reads the bio-data in the e-passport chip and confirms the identity of the person, using facial-recognition technology.”
Cost and the security are some of the factors that need to be considered by the Government while getting the e-passport. There are some of the challenges which are ready to accept Jack Warner. It is actually a lengthy certification process that needs to look at the spatial requirements and as the human resources issues. It is a biometric passport that is also termed as the digital passport that includes both paper as the well as the electronic information that can be used to authenticate the travelers.
