The fast ferry is the popular choice for vacationers and persons traveling daily between the islands of T&T....completing the 20 mile journey in a mere 2 1/2 hours.....for those who wish to do commerce between the islands....the M.V. Warrior Spirit may be the vessel of choice.....the T&T Express and the T&T Spirit service the 20 mile route with a 7 day weekly schedule and the number of sailings is increased to facilitate those persons who may wish to participate in special events in the respective island.....the Warrior Spirit is a conventional Ro/Ro vessel designed to transport cargo between the islands.....

On 2007 July 20, the T&T Spirit was commissioned into service...the Incat 060 vessel was converted from a military-type configuration to a passenger-type design to service the the inter-island bridge...... it's 97.22 metres in length with speed of 30-40 knots....It can accommodate 765 passengers and 200 cars...On board facilities include a cafeteria, a bar and a VIP Lounge.....

The T&T Express..built in 1997 was purchased by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and commissioned into service on 2006 December 27....Facilities include a café/restaurant area and a bar as well as a ramp for the disabled....It is 91.3 metres in length with a speed of 38-40 knots which enables the vessel to complete the journey between the two islands in 2 ½ hours....It can accommodate some 840 passengers and 200cars/vans......

The Warrior Spirit is a conventional Ro/Ro vessel designated to transport cargo between the islands...the voyage takes approximately 5 hours with the vessel departing Port of Spain...Mondays to Fridays at 2:00 p.m. and Scarborough at 11:00 p.m...there are no sailings on Saturdays. On Sundays the vessel departs Port of Spain at 12:00 noon and Scarborough at 11:00 p.m.......

Note: A vehicle ticket cannot be purchased alone....It must include a passenger’s name on the ticket. Hence the cost for the passenger must be added to the vehice ticket....a vehicle ticket can only be sold to an adult with a driver’s permit....

The rough seas which hit Tobago and the northern Trinidad coastline on Monday damaged the ramp at the Port of Spain fast ferry dock and has forced the National Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (Nidco) to set up a temporary ramp at the waterfront.
The dock was affected by adverse weather conditions caused by a frontal system in the Atlantic Ocean, north of the Lesser Antilles on Monday.
Nidco's communications manager, Ingrid Ishmael, yesterday said the heavy swells caused the ramp at the dock to be displaced.
"Due to repair works currently taking place on the Port of Spain Water-Taxi Service passenger ramp, passengers are currently boarding and disembarking the vessels at a temporary location along the quay wall at the waterfront, in close proximity to the existing berth," she said.
Ishmael said none of the scheduled sailings between Port of Spain and San Fernando were affected by the temporary change in the dock location, and works on the ramp were expected to be completed by today.

Passengers returnin home from Tobago on the inter-island ferry yesterday faced delays....there was a mechanical problem with the T&T Express.....all sailin were cancelled also the 6:30 a.m. departure from Scarborough...but the T&T Spirit sailed at 10 a.m. and shortly after 5 p.m.....Delayed passengers said they were upset not enough accommodation was made available to them, as a number of children were tired and hungry........Some passengers sat on the ground with babies in arms, while others stood below trees reading the newspaper, and others waited below tents provided by the Port Authority. Some gathered outside the Scarborough Port until it was time to check in......
