I know this is sports talk section but this is also ACTIVITIES AND OUTDOORS is sports..well kinda..This is very important you guys ..

The hundreds of local tourists staying in beach and guest houses along Trinidad's east coast are being advised to take precautions against crime-including staying off the beaches at night if turtle watching or engaging in sports or Recreational Activities eg Fishing.

Mayaro police detectives, many in normal clothing and unmarked vehicles, are patrolling the seafront streets, giving advice and warnings to visitors.

Police have also taken the extreme measure of driving along the shore to warn persons to secure their belongings, and not display jewelry, laptops or camera equipment.

The warnings have come after a spate of robberies involving tourists, and because of several unsolved murders along the beachfront between Manzanilla and Pierreville.

Mayaro and these areas have been known for regular sports grounds and fishing but now people are so frighten to come to these areas it is affecting the area. That is why they have been none held since

If you guys are planning a trip to these beaches for rec activities and sports plz be careful or do not drink or something so you can be head on to look out for these predators

I know just las week they held up a family at Mayaro and robbed them. People be careful they won't stop unless we do something

I think that the beaches are fine now. i hear more police patrol are being done to encourage the people to come back to the beach.
