A man who went test driving a car with a sales representative of Diamond Motors was shot by police after he reportedly robbed the woman of the unregistered car. Police said the 47-year-old man, of Longdenville, went to Diamond Motors at Royal Road, San Fernando and said he was interested in a Mitsubishi Lancer, valued $230,000. He told the sales representative he wanted to test drive the car. She accompanied him.
However, on reaching Golconda, the man held her up with a knife and ordered her out the car. Thank God the lady alive. He then sped off. The saleswoman alerted the police . The car was spotted on Williamsville Main Road. Police intercepted the car after which the man reportedly shot at them. They returned fire hitting the man in the abdomen. He was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he remains warded in a serious condition under police guard.
