Oh oh now the lady need blood to sustain her surgery. Look how old the couple was how can someone do such a thing like that and then to hear then suffering. It's really so sad eh

THE British High Commission is appealing for members of the public to come forward and donate blood for British nationals Peter and Murium Greene.

The retired British couple, who were seriously injured during a cutlass attack at their Bacolet home in Tobago last Saturday, have been receiving medical care at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope since the brutal incident.

According to a spokesperson from the Commission, however, the call for the blood comes after several members of the public called and asked how they could assist the couple.

And since Murium, 59, who is scheduled to have an operation to repair her fractured jaw was in need of blood, the Commission thought the blood drive was an ideal way for people to assist, and get some blood for the blood bank in the process.

Anyone wishing to assist can visit the blood bank at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope to make a donation.

Hmm it is indeed sad. Last I heard is that the police have detained a man suspected to be one of the assailants. Now a few things i wanna address; 1. Like is only when tourists gets attacked, then our police service actually do their job efficiently. Like crimes against tourists are the only way "crime" affects our nation, so therefore the authorities seem to put their offices in order. If its local victims, then its like "who"cares???
2. Nation-wide hunt for the perpetrators. have you ever seen such perseverance for local victims that fall day in day out at the hands of these monsters?
3. I think in light of the international negative press, the police will be on a "witch-hunt" for anybody to use as a fall guy! Who knows, de person could be some two-bit criminal with a record in the police station or courts and he can easily become the scape-goat in order to turn around the bad press. things to think about!

wat is d blood group, or is it any type for bank storage? i thing dey would take a low frofile criminals and try them for the attaack just to show d country they working and dey can solve crime, another impressive move top cop

I noticed that. The other day everything was about tourism in the papers and how the death of the british locals affected us financially what happen to us do your rising crime rate mean anything.

The Congress of the People (COP) has renewed its 2year-old call for the Ministry of Health to invest more personnel and resources including mobile blood donation drives, in the 2009/2010 national budget, to make it more accessible and efficient for people wishing to donate blood in d blood bank of T & T
