I'm sure you guys have heard about a second airplane crash that happened within weeks.. This one actually had a survivor!! A 14 year old girl named Baya Bakari.
Check the story: http://mobile.nytimes.com/article;jsess ... gle=1&f=20
This is not the only time a sole survivor has emerged from a plane crash:

It's interesting how mostly only children and staff survive as sole survivors.
But how the hell people survive air crashes? Here's some insight:

Those odds seem very specific but thats only IF the plane crashes. The odds of a plane crashing is less that a car crashing (per kilometer traveled and completely true in Trinidad) Or slipping and dying in your bathroom.. or

That site more friendly that the scary ones who want you to buy their stuff.. lol. This other one not selling anything

In transit you are less likely to crash.. only takeoffs and landings slightly increase the odds of a crash.

And no not every single crash is fatal... good odds are you'd survive a crash.
